POCSO case against Yediyurappa for allegedly sexually harassing minor

Bengaluru: The Sadashiva Nagar police registered a case against former Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa on Thursday night for allegedly sexually harassing a minor at his RMV 2nd stage residence in Bengaluru.

In a complaint filed by the mother of the victim of 17 year old, the woman visited BS Yediyurappa’s residence on 2 February. According to the FIR, the woman went to Yediyurappa’s house seeking justice in a cheating where is she lost susbtanital amount and rape case involving her daughter and requesting him to form of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the matter.

81-year-old Yediyurappa, who spoke for nine minutes, took my daughter to a room and closed the door. They stayed in the room for five minutes, during which he reportedly sexually harassed the victim. Upon returning, when I confronted Yediyurappa about his actions, the woman said he claimed he was checking if the girl was raped or not, as per the FIR.

BS Yediyurappa then apologized and requested not to reveal the matter outside. Sadashivanagar police have registered a case under section 8 (commit sexual assault) of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and section 354 (a) (Sexual harassment) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
